About Chickenauts Demo
Chickenauts is a shooting roguelike about rescuing an abducted flock from alien chickens. The demo opens part of a large spaceship whose rooms can contain combat, treasure, shops, or mutation opportunities. Weapons and loot change the immediate firepower, while mutations can reshape how the character handles later encounters. A boss closes each level, turning the upgrades collected along the route into a clear final test.
Room variety gives the run a useful tempo. Combat spaces consume health and ammunition, treasure rooms offer recovery or power, and shops force a decision about which resource is worth spending before the boss. Mutations are especially important because they can create a build identity beyond the equipped gun. Since this is a demo, the scope is limited, but the complete combat loop and progression choices are present.
How to play Chickenauts Demo
Move with WASD while aiming independently with the mouse. Fire with the left button and roll with Space or the right button when an attack closes the safe lane. Do not roll only for speed; preserving it for a projectile pattern or a crowded doorway makes the next room more reliable. Use E to interact after the active threats have been cleared.
Compare loot and mutations by how they help the upcoming boss, not only the room in front of you. A weapon with broad coverage may clear ordinary chickens, while focused damage or a defensive mutation can matter more in the final arena. Enter shops with a spending priority and avoid using every resource on a small improvement. Explore enough side rooms to strengthen the build without taking unnecessary damage before the level climax.
Chickenauts Demo tips
- Keep the roll ready for a blocked doorway or boss pattern instead of using it for routine movement.
- Select mutations that complement the current weapon rather than creating a second unrelated combat plan.
- Preserve health and shop resources for the level boss when optional rooms offer only a minor reward.
